Red dragons are mythical creatures that have been a part of many different cultures and religions across the world. They represent power, strength, and good fortune. You may know these names as red dragons:

This list is not exhaustive – there are many more red dragon names in the world!

the Chinese dragon, a symbol of power and strength;

Gwladys ap Tudur, the Welsh patron saint of Wales who defeated an invading Irish army with her troops in 1402 AD and became queen by marrying King Henry IV (Henry VII);

Hazel McCallion, the longest serving mayor in North America who retired in 2014 after 36 years as Mayor of Mississauga. Ms. McCallion was credited for revitalizing this city through deindustrialization efforts that promoted business growth near highways and other infrastructure to reduce traffic congestion;

George Washington Carver – born into slavery but later freed when his master’s wife died, he went on to become one of the most significant contributors to agricultural science during the 20th century, credited with the development of peanut butter and over 300 products from peanuts;

Nino Tempo – a former Italian immigrant to the United States who was a nightclub impresario in Philadelphia during Prohibition. He made his name as “King of R&B” by promoting black singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Cab Calloway on white radio stations, being one of the first promoters to do so.

Long Form Content:

When you’re looking for something powerful or strong to call your child—something that will stand out among other children’s names at school—you might want to consider these red dragon baby girl names! They all have incredible power behind them!

Gwladys ap Tudur is an amazing name for your daughter! It means “the fortunate virgin.”

Rowena is one of the coolest names I’ve heard in a while. It literally translates to “little red-haired girl” and comes from an Old English word meaning “white, blessed beauty” or “holy maiden.”

Ruth sounds like a great name too—it could be short for Ruthie, which means “friendship” and has origins in Hebrew lore as well as Christianity; it can also mean either “companion,” with Celtic roots, or “comforting friend,” based on Hebrew etymology.

Sara may not sound like much at first glance but this Biblical female name (meaning “princess” ) is a powerful female name!

Maeve means “intoxicating” and it comes from the Irish mythological figure of this same name. It could also be short for Margaret, meaning “pearl,” which has roots in Old English lore; or Maria, as in Mary (meaning “bitter”), which also carries Hebrew etymology with Christianity ties.

Ceri was once considered to mean “black,” but more recently it’s been translated to have Welsh origins and can now refer to either “cherry” or “the beloved one.” And finally there’s Eileen…which translates into English as either “bright world” or just plain old “sunny day!”

Etymology: Sara, Maeve, Ceri.

Sara means “princess” and comes from the Bible.

Means “intoxicating” in Irish mythological figure of same name.

Ceri has Welsh origins and can mean either “cherry” or “beloved.”

Eileen translates to English as meaning bright world on a sunny day!
