50 Really Great Fictional Kingdom Names

Every kingdom needs a name, and every ruler wants to make sure they choose the perfect one. In this blog post we have compiled 50 really great fictional kingdom names for you to consider! We hope that these ideas will help spark your imagination when it comes to naming your own Kingdom .

01 ovia: A kingdom with the name of Cornovia is often associated with the term “cornucopia” which means a place that provides an abundance or variety of food. The word corny can also be used as slang for something being outdated, so this could potentially have negative associations depending on what you are going for in your fictional Kingdom.

02 septia: Latin meaning “seven” – Septia would represent the seventh kingdom. This is a good choice if you are creating seven kingdoms in your story, or want to go with the number “seven”. It could also be used as a name for an organization that has 7000 members and so on.

03 rica: Latin meaning “rich” – Rica may not sound like much of a Kingdom name at first glance, but it can represent things such as wealth and power which would make sense for monarchy-based societies.

04 pedia: Pedia means “child” in Greek; this would most likely relate to children being able to grow up happily without fear of oppression from their parents since they have more rights than adults do in some fictional countries/kingdoms (think Harry Potter ‘s Hogwarts).

05 lexia: Lexia means “law” in Greek. This is a great choice if your country/kingdom has a strong emphasis on the rule of law, or just needs to have something that relates to the idea of justice and equality more broadly. It could also be good for propaganda-based organizations such as terrorist groups since they may want their society’s actions to seem justified by demanding laws which most people would agree are unjust (such as forcing members from other races into slavery)

06 ebia: Ebia means “slave”. Not only does this name go well with any slave-centric narrative you might have planned; but it can also represent countries where slaves outnumber free citizens due to social inequities.
